Crummock carried out a substantial overhaul of all the facilities in the MLQ (Main Living Quarters) of the Zafiro Producer, an FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) vessel. The vessel was originally built as an oil tanker in 1973 and converted to an FPSO around 1996.
The works included a full fit out of the water systems, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), lighting, ceilings, insulation and installation of Norac Marine panels throughout the vessel.
As these works were carried out in a live environment, strict planning and health and safety were a priority at all times.
The project was successfully carried out over a period of 5 years and completed in 2006 without any down time incidents. This led to Crummock successfully winning additional works in other ExxonMobil areas.
